There isn't much complexity beyond blowing up generators and defeating monsters before they kill you. The main gameplay mode revolves around increasing Godzilla's size by destroying as much as possible, specifically large power generators and other Kaiju. I'm unsure what the game wants to be - a smash-and-go action game like Rampage or a monstrous fighting game similar to the previous Godzilla title, Destroy All Monsters. Godzilla also suffers from an identity crisis. Even on PS3 or Xbox 360, I would have described these settings as lacking. Even during a massive rampage, these structures explode and crumble in a uniform manner, breaking apart into standard chunks like the buildings before them. The city blocks in each area appear to be copied and pasted to fill space, aside from a few unique structures that differentiate one nondescript urban location from another. While the Kaiju character models look respectable - particularly fan favorites like Mothra and Destroyah, as well as the various versions of Godzilla - the destructible environments surrounding them are unimpressive. The first thing most people will probably notice is that Godzilla does not have a current-gen game aesthetic.
